VERNAL, Utah – Before a full crowd Milton Robinson (Evanston,Wyo.) captured the Lane Frost Challenge title with 156 points, earning $5,000. In memory of the legendary Lane Frost, the 16th annual Lane Frost Challenge (LFC) lit up the Western Park Indoor Arena with intense rides, wrecks and heart-pounding entertainment.Although failing to cover the notorious Who’s Jacket from Tom Hadden in the NINGXIA Red Championship Round, Robinson—riding with his right hand due to an injury to his left arm—noted he “couldn’t have asked for a better bull.” Appearing at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) and the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) finals, Who’s Jacket remains unridden by any cowboy. “I was excited when I drew him,” says Robinson. “He’s an amazing bull—leans on you hard and fast.”
Austin Allred (Cleveland, Utah) rounded out second place with 147.5 points, earning $3,000, and Brady Sullivan (Tooele, Utah) came in third with 139 points, earning $2,000.
Leading round one of the two-night event, Bryce Burnell (Arvada, Wyo.) covered his bull with an 81-point ride on Rebel. Although he didn’t end up in the top three earners, Burnell’s first time at the LFC paid off. “The event was fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for a better ride last night,” noted Burnell.
In all, $25,000 in cash and prizes was awarded at the two-day event. Additional information and photos can be found at www.bullriderschallenge.com.
