Burnell wins the 18th Annual Lane Frost Challenge
VERNAL, Utah – Fire and smoke kicked off what would be a historic night at the Western Park Arena in memory of the legendary Lane Frost. Wyoming bull riders swept the podium beginning with Bryce Burnell (Arvada, Wyoming) a twenty-four-year-old capturing the coveted Lane Frost Challenge title, with 159 points, earning him $6,000. When asked his plans for his haul of money he explained “My mother is at home fighting cancer. Most of this money will go back to her, hopefully it will make things a little better.”
In all, the weekend, presented by Young Living, was two days of high energy action, with some of the strongest up and comers in the sport of bull riding. Eighteen-year-old Kolton Moss (Laramie, Wyoming) who finished out the event in second place, walked away with $4,000. “This is pretty much the biggest bull riding I have been to outside the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA). It is awesome to ride in this big of an event, with this many people” noted Moss.
Dylan Grant, a seventeen-year-old (Pavilion, Wyoming) who rounded up the top three, walked away with a hefty $2,000. “This is my biggest event win ever, but I hope to have more in the future.”
In all, $36,000 in cash and prizes was awarded at the two-day event.
